Carol L. Myers ~ Mixed Media Artist

I found a tin of water soluable oil pastels, and have been making little drawings on canvas. I plan to stitch into the drawings, and make 4 x 6 postcards or maybe just framed pieces. I think by using canvas, I won’t have to use stabilizer to stitch. I love the way they work on the unprimed canvas. I’ll upload photos as I finish them. I may have to look for more colors!

Here is an afternoon’s worth of monoprinting. Now I have to figure out how to use all of this raw material. I’m using acrylics with Golden Glazing medium, and I’m really liking the way they work. I like the amount of open time that the glazing medium gives me. I used plexi and floor tiles(ceramic) for my plate, and a brayer to print the inage to fabric.
